Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp dedicated the 2021/22 Champions League final versus Real Madrid at the Stade de France on Sunday (29/5/2022) early morning WIB for the Ukrainian people.
The Champions League final for the 2021/22 season will actually be held at Krestovsky Stadium, Saint Petersburg, Russia. However, the war between Russia and Ukraine made UEFA move the venue for this match.
The Stade de France was chosen as the replacement venue in February 2022. This is the third time the Stade de France has hosted the Champions League final after 2000 and 2006.
Jurgen Klopp's joy
Seeing the situation in Russia that has not been conducive since they invaded Ukraine, Klopp was pleased that the venue for the final had been moved to the Stade de France.
"I'm happy this game is here for a thousand reasons," Klopp said as quoted by the Daily Mail.
"The war is still going on and we have to think about it. Games are still happening and [the match] not in Saint Petersburg is the right message."
"We play this game for the Ukrainian people." he said. /bola.net
